Zimpost Launches Post Bus Service

On the 4th of March 2011 Zimpost launched a Post Bus service, with a 63 seater coach going on its maiden trip from Harare to Masvingo.
Globally, the Post Bus strategy has been acknowledged as one of the most effective and reliable means of transport and cost effective way of mail conveyance.

 Zimpost, on a daily basis, transports mail from one place to another and to this end, the company decided to introduce the buses with trailers carrying mail while providing transport to passengers at a cost.
The purchase of the bus is another major step in Zimpost’s quest to improve its postal operations.

The Post Bus project is expected to assist Zimpost to recoup its operating costs while at the same time providing a valuable service to the Zimbabwean public.

At the moment Zimpost is only operating one bus which is plying the Harare -Masvingo route from Monday to Saturday.  The Post Bus is charging a standard fare of $7 for a trip from Harare to Masvingo.  The Post Bus follows a strict timetable and a scheduled route, thereby giving assurance to customers who want to plan their trip.
