Zimpost Receives Silver Certificate from Universal Postal Union


Zimpost received the Universal Postal Union (UPU) quality management certification level B (Silver award) following the certification audit held between 18 and 22 June 2012.
The UPU is a specialized body of the United Nations which is responsible for coordinating postal development activities worldwide. It has 191 member countries. The organization fulfils an advisory, mediating and liaison role and provides technical assistance where needed, to support postal and development activities in member countries.
The quality of service audit is carried out after every three years by a UPU consultant.. The certification system is intended to measure the degree of compliance to the domestic and international mail regulations.
The awards are categorized into four different grades and these are: gold, silver, bronze and entry level.
Zimpost obtained 1870 out of a possible 2000 points.
In 2008 Zimpost was awarded with a bronze certificate, in spite of the economic challenges which were prevailing in the country at that time.
