New Customs Prepayment Requirements

Zimbabwe Posts Private Limited advises valued customers that, with immediate effect, new customs duty requirements apply to international mail destined for the United States of America and selected European Union Member States, whereby all applicable customs duties must be calculated and prepaid prior to dispatch in line with destination country customs regulations.

Customers are required to ensure accurate completion of customs declarations when lodging items at Post Offices, including full description, value, quantity and country of origin, as these details will be used to determine applicable duties, and are further advised that customs charges are separate from Zimpost postage and conveyance fees and are imposed by destination customs authorities.

Customers may also download and use the Zonos Prepay application available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to calculate and pay applicable customs duties directly, or alternatively obtain assistance at any Post Office in processing their items, and are encouraged to ensure full compliance to avoid delays, additional charges or rejection of items by destination customs authorities.
